Children's Shrine

Children's shrine at Korinji: Jizo Bosatsu

In Korinji's ceremonial hall we maintain a shrine for mizuko: infants or unborn children who have died through sudden infant death, stillbirth, miscarriage, abortion, or other circumstances.

Many small images of Jizo, the bodhisattva who protects children, are placed there - one for each child - and prayers offered regularly on behalf of everyone  involved. We believe that this provides lasting benefit to the child as it continues its existence elsewhere. It is also a remarkably powerful way for those of us present here to heal.

We invite you to dedicate a Jizo image. This may be done anonymously, or a name may be inscribed upon it.

Please contact us for details. We will let you know where to purchase the image, and how to have it sent to Korinji.
