A Rinzai Zen Buddhist Monastery in the Heart of North America

Korinji is a Buddhist monastery in the Rinzai Zen lineage, located on 17 forested acres in the Upper Midwest region of the United States near Madison, Wisconsin.  The Rinzai Zen Community (RZC) is the network of associated Zen practice groups and practitioners centered on Korinji as well as Daiyuzenji, our sister temple in Chicago.

The Korinji Foundation, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit charitable organization, supports Korinji and its work.  Construction of the first monastery building has begun, funded with grassroots donations and largely built by volunteers from our community. 

Please read within to learn more about Zen, the Rinzai tradition of Zen training, and Korinji's vision.  You'll also find information about practice groups of the Rinzai Zen Community where Zen training is offered to the public.  Our events calendar lists retreats, lectures and other events in North America and Europe which you are welcome to attend.
